I've always wondered how life worked

for its twists and turns

are often, if not always,

unwelcome and unexpected.

Some fortunate, givng cause to rejoice.

and then also, unfortunate

causing the most banal grief.

Yet we, us all, survive in all of this,

making the best out of whatever circumstances

we find ourselves in,

unearthing the best

and even the worst in all of us.
